Care and Instructions
Ascend Rug Performance Features
Ascend rugs resist flattening due to the very dense yarn structures and high pile weights of every product.
Ascend selects and uses only the best quality wool fibers, thus minimising the shedding and surface fuzzing often seen when poor and brittle wools are used.
Ascend Rug Care
Every Ascend rug is handcrafted from carefully selected soft, fine wools. Ascend’s unique yarn system locks the wool fibers together to create exciting, beautiful textures and exceptional performance. A simple maintenance programme will keep your Ascend wool rug looking as new.
Vacuuming
Regular and thorough vacuuming is an effective way to remove soil and dirt particles. Do not use a vacuum cleaner with either brushes or beater bars. Avoid usage of modern bagless vacuum cleaners which exert very intense suction. For a shag pile rug, use a plastic rake to raise and realign the pile.
Spot Removal
With stain or spot removal, speed is of the essence. Blot up liquids with paper towels or an absorbent cloth. Scoop up solids with the end of a knife or spoon.
Professional Advice
If you have problems removing a spot, consult a professional carpet cleaning company.
If you have further questions concerning your Ascend rug, please consult your carpet retailer.
DO NOT apply any stain repellent treatments as these can accelerate carpet soiling. Steam cleaning is not recommended on your Ascend rug.
Detergent Solution
Mix one teaspoon of clear dishwashing liquid or detergent powder (containing no bleaches or strong alkalies) with a cup of warm (not hot) water. This solution must be well rinsed with clear water.
Ammonia Solution
Mix one tablespoon of clear household ammonia (3% solution) with 1/2 cup water. This solution must be neutralized with vinegar solution.
Vinegar Solution
Mix 1/3 cup white vinegar with 2/3 cup water.
Solvent
A dry cleaning solvent (available at grocery, drug and hardware stores) such as Carbona® or Energine® (chemically 1.1.1 Tricloroethane is preferred).
Absorbent Cleaners
Host® and Dri-Matic®.
